We'd love to discuss your talents when we meet you.
Our volunteers may be stationed in any number of locations within the park during - or outside of - operating hours, including the Rainbow Station, our museum exhibits section, the Garden Railway with its fascinating model trains, or in our maintenance facilities where we care for our locomotives.
Volunteers may work as station attendants, conductors, maintain grounds, equipment, and engage with locals and visitors from around the world. Those willing to go all out in their training and skill development can become qualified engineers who operate the trains.
Yes. To keep our operations safe, professional, and organized, we rely on committed volunteers who are members of the BCSME team.
The BCSME charges a small fee of $50 per year (less for seniors and juniors) to pay for administrative expenses and help ensure our members remain committed.
Yes; please contact us at JoinUs@bcsme.org and let us know. We will make arrangements.
BCSME members get hands-on training and learn to be conductors, train drivers, station attendants, Garden Railway hosts, groundskeepers, and much more. In addition, our members enjoy the camaraderie of people with shared interests, including but not limited to the hobby of model engineering. We host social events, enjoy members-only Play Days, and much more.
